Some CPA clients request a one-stop experience. CPAs use account
aggregation tools to allow clients to integrate both financial and
nonfinancial data in one place. One CPA firm gives its clients a view into
their holdings through a Web portal. Many investors may have a managed
brokerage account, online brokerage account, retirement account, and
trust account , many of which may be maintained 'at different financial
institutions. It is therefore difficult to achieve a unified view of an
investor's portfolio. Account aggregation solves this problem and allows
CPAs to make more informed decisions and offer better financial advice. A
study by Forrester, however, says that account aggregation in banking has
seen disappointing results. However, financial services providers say that
when aggregation services are offered by professional advisors, they are
more successful. This allows advisors to bring more assets under
management. Several companies have added consolidation services to their
portals .
